About
...
This association is an independent collective that represents the diverse voices of the Afrikaburn (AB) community, creative projects, theme camps, suppliers, service providers, and participants who contribute in shaping the city known as Tankwa Town. Our goal is to foster open dialogue and collaboration with the AB Organisation to ensure that our shared efforts are acknowledged and supported. We have collectively experienced a decaying of the Afrikaburner experience due to the extreme measures & restrictions applied to theme camps, creative project camps, support camps and suppliers. We are also questioning existing protocols/lack of protocols in place whereby major decisions are made by the Exco/Org that result in the banning of certain camps, projects, suppliers and/or participants.
We aim to establish a working committee that can engage with the AB Organisation in a constructive and transparent manner, addressing concerns and working together to enhance the event experience for all involved. One of our key focuses is the principle of Radical Inclusion, which affirms that everyone has the right to participate in Afrikaburn, barring serious or unacceptable behaviour. We believe in clear and fair decision-making processes, particularly regarding participation, project approvals, supplier approvals & engagement, and overall event regulations.A transparent and consistent approach to these matters will strengthen trust and maintain the spirit of community-driven participation.
Our shared vision is to ensure that all contributors- whether artists, builders, organisers, or service providers- have a fair and open platform to express their creativity and be recognised for their efforts. We advocate for greater clarity in decision-making, open communication channels, and a collaborative approach that aligns with the founding principles of Afrikaburn.By joining this association, you stand for diplomacy, fairness, and the rights of all contributors to engage meaningfully in the evolution of the event. Together, we can work toward a more inclusive, transparent, and community-focused future for Afrikaburn
